HOW TO CLIP OR NOTCH CURVED SEAMS

To remove bulk from curved edges, you either have to clip or notch the seam. Doing this will allow you to press the seam smooth and flat. Seams with a curve such as crotch seams, armholes, necklines, waistlines, princess seams, etc... need to be clipped or notched. Let's get right to it!

Concave

1. Concave curves must be clipped, to not through the stitching line.

2. Turn your project right side out and press.

Convex

1. Convex curves must be notched, to not through the stitching line. Cut little triangles out for notches.

2. Turn your project right side out and press.
