HOW TO SHORTEN AN ALL-PURPOSE ZIPPER

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • All-purpose zipper
  • Measuring tape or ruler
  • Fabric marker
  • Thread
  • Hand-sewing needle
  • Scissors

In this tutorial, I'll be shortening my 9" zipper down to a 7".

HOW TO:

1. Measure and mark the desired length of the zipper. You're going to measure from the top stop, down the zipper teeth to the desired length.

2. Create a new bottom stop by whip stitching the zipper teeth at the mark. Whip stitch about 10 times and secure with a knot.

3. Measure 3/4" down from the new bottom stop and cut the excess off with sharp scissors. Done!
