HOW TO HAND-SEW | THE SLIP STITCH
The slip stitch makes a neat, strong hem. I often use it to stitch linings, facings or waistbands to zippers.
1. Fold up the hem as desired. At the right-hand side of your project, bring your needle up through the upper folded edge. From right to left, make a tiny stitch through the main fabric. Make sure to only pick up a couple of threads so that the stitch barely shows on the right side.
2. From right to left, slip the needle through the folded edge of the hem and make a stitch.
Repeat until you are finished.
